| Obituary: Andrew George “Mike” Mikkelsen (85) passed into Heaven Sunday April 5, 2009 after a year long battle with cancer. George was born on November 7, 1923 to Anders and Matilda Mikkelsen of Pleasantville. After graduating from PHS in 1941 he attended Miami University in Oxford, OH. Upon graduation, he returned to Pleasantville and worked for various companies in New York City before joining the Minute Maid Corporation in 1955. He transferred with Minute Maid to Orlando , FL in 1957 and then to Houston , TX in 1968, after Minute Maid merged with the Coca Cola Corporation. George retired as Coca Cola Foods Division Director of Human Resource Administration in 1986, and moved to Pensacola , FL in 1989. George moved back to Houston to be closer to his children and grand-children, after his wife of 51 years, Mary Jane (Powell), passed in 2005. George is survived by his son Andrew Peter and wife Julie, their sons Andrew Patrick and Matthew Frederick, his daughter Leanne Mikkelsen Klecka, and husband David. The family will receive friends at the Beecher Funeral Home, Inc. in Pleasantville on Friday from 9 – 10 AM. The Funeral Service will begin at 10 AM with burial to follow in Kensico Cemetery.
