| Obituary: Sister Mary Claver Aguglia, OP (Camille B. Aguglia) died on April 13, 2009 at 5 pm at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne, NY after an extended illness. She was born May 23, 1918 in Waterbury, CT to Stefano Aguglia and Antonia Frascatore. Sister worked as a bookkeeper until she entered the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne on November 1, 1951. Sister made her Profession of Vows, on September 14, 1953. Sister served at Rose Hawthorne Lathrop Home in Fall River, Massachusetts for 3 years and then was assigned to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home in Atlanta, Ga. for 4 years. In 1960, she was assigned to St. Rose’s Home in New York City where she cared for our residents and cooked for many years. Sister remained at St. Rose’s until March 12, 2009 when she was transferred to Rosary Hill Home. Two nephew’s Allen and Kathleen Oxsalida of Branford, CT and Stephen and Michelle Oxsalida of Tampa, Florida survive her. Seven nieces and nephews also survive her. Sister Claver will be reposing in the Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary today from 2 PM – 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Chapel on Thursday at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
