| Obituary:
Dale H. Austin, 83, of Tequesta, FL and Briarcliff Manor, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Dale is survived by his wife, Sandra Harvell Austin; his four children, Kimberly, Terri, Rick and Scott, his first wife, Nancy P. Austin; four step-children and fifteen grandchildren. He attended Stanford University at age sixteen and later obtained a Graduate Degree in engineering from California Institute of Technology. Dale enlisted in the Navy in 1945 and honorably served his country in World War II and Korea. Dale began his career in Southern California working his way up from field engineer for a local petroleum company to eventually becoming President of the parent company, American Ultramar, LTD. Dale relocated to Chappaqua, NY, in 1964 and retired after a successful career in 1987. Dale enjoyed many pursuits including managing his thoroughbred race horses, playing golf with his buddies and watching his grandchildren play a variety of sports. He graciously supported many charities including scholarships at both Stanford and Cal Tech. Memorial Services will be held February 28, 2009 at 11 AM at the Beecher Funeral Home, Pleasantville, NY, his burial will be at 12:30 PM at the Fair Ridge Cemetery in Chappaqua, NY, followed by a Celebration of His Life at 2:30 PM at Mt.
