| Obituary:
Hawthorne resident, Agnes Patricia Sarlo, died April 27, 2009 at the age of 79. Agnes was a resident of Hawthorne, NY for 46 years.
Agnes was born in New Rochelle, NY and went to schools in Westchester County. She worked for the Veteran's Administration as secretary to the Chief of Staff in Montrose, NY for many years and at Pace University library. She married her beloved husband Robert Sarlo in 1962. Besides her husband Robert, she is survived by a son, Michael
Sarlo and his wife Beth of Cherry Hill, NJ; a daughter, Laurie Baisley and her husband Brian of Washingtonville, NY; a sister Katherine Laurence of Playa del Rey, California; two grandchildren, Erica & Sal, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three her father, Michael Murphy and her mother, Martha Benz Murphy as well as three brothers, Robert, John & George Murphy. Agnes was a member of Church of the Magdalene in Pocantico Hills and the Sleepy Hollow Leisure Club. The family will receive friends at the Beecher Funeral Home, Inc. in Pleasantville on Thursday from 3 – 8 PM and Friday morning from 8:30 – 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Magdalene on Friday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne. |
