Dennis W. Johnson, 89, a lifelong resident of Pleasantville passed away on February 9th. Dennis was born in NYC to George Johnson and Margaret Martinsen Johnson. He graduated from Pleasantville H.S. in 1938 and went on to proudly serve his country in the Army during World War II. Dennis served with the 664th Medical Company as a Medical Technician 409. He was awarded several commendations including the Purple Heart, the American Service Medal, the EAME Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1945 but went on to serve his country again during the Korean War. Dennis worked for the Town of Mt. Pleasant Highway Dept. for many years, retiring in 1982. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy, brothers, Walter and George Johnson and sisters Eleanor Bradley and Marion Johnson. He is survived by his brother, Norman Johnson and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 – 6 PM at the Beecher Funeral Home in Pleasantville. A Prayer Service will be held at 5 PM. |
