Obituary:.
Joan Marie Rodenberger of Scarborough, NY died at the age of 81 after a long illness. Joan was born November 13, 1928 to Fred and Alma Schnebbe in Mt. Vernon, NY. She was raised in Scarsdale, NY and graduated from Scarsdale High School. Joan attended Bethany College in West Virginia and Syracuse University in NY. Joan worked for Reader’s Digest before staying home to raise a family. Joan married Kent Rodenberger on May 15, 1954. They lived in Dumont, NJ before moving to Briarcliff Manor where she resided for 44 years. Joan was an accomplished pianist and taught piano for many years. Joan was also an avid bowler and tennis player. Joan was a volunteer for many years at Phelps Memorial Hospital and the Ossining Food Pantry. She was also a member of the Briarcliff Garden Club. Joan is survived by four loving daughters: Susan Lindner (Matt); Barbara Rodenberger; Nancy Byrne (Michael); and Diane Lucadamo (Michael), eight grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew. Joan was pre-deceased by her husband Kent and her sister Mildred Riordan.
