Helen Szreniawski, 69, of Chappaqua died on May 7, 2010 at home. Born in Poland, a long-time resident of Westchester County and Syracuse, NY, she had a life-long commitment to the Polish community and traditions. Helen, a landscape architect, was known for her beautiful gardens and sharing of her homegrown vegetables. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, a loyal friend and was deeply cherished by her extended family and friends.
Helen is survived by her husband, Dr. George Szreniawski, daughter, Dr. Eva Hessert (Christopher), and her two sisters and one brother in Poland. She was a loving and dedicated grandmother to grandsons Christopher Jr. (5), Nicholas (4) and Gabriel (2). A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Innocents Church, Pleasantville, NY, on Saturday, May 15 at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in honor of Helen to Catholic Charities.
