Obituary:
Dr. Martin A. Ackerman died November 30, 2009. He was born in the Bronx on December 25, 1926. He practiced Dentistry for over 50 years in Pleasantville, NY. He graduated from Brooklyn College and the University Of Pennsylvania Dental School. He was a member of the American, New York State, County and 9th District Dental Association.
A World War II Navy Veteran and Past Commander of American Legion Post #112; Dr. Ackerman was very active in many Mt. Pleasant Civic organizations, the Pleasantville Masonic Lodge, and Past President of the Mt. Pleasant Republican Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth (Loeb), devoted children, Jill Leinung (Mark), Lee Sawyer (Garry), Dr. Jon F. Ackerman (Bonnie) and nine beloved grandchildren; he was also survived by two sisters. He was pre deceased by his cherished brother Jack.
Funeral service Wednesday (Today), 11 AM, Beecher Funeral Home, Pleasantville. Interment Sharon Gardens Cemetery, Valhalla.
