Obituary:
Sheila Rose Giglio, 44 of Pleasantville went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Her heroic two and a half year battle with cancer and her incredible will to live has been an inspiration to us all. She will be deeply missed. Sheila was born on October 5, 1965 to John and Sheila McCloskey in New Rochelle, NY the fifth of seven children. After graduating from Ursuline High School in 1983 she attended the Katherine Gibbs Business School and worked as an executive secretary for Dorian International, White Plains and then provided home day care for almost seven years. Sheila was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband Jerry and three children, Amanda, Sarah and Bridget.
Sheila was beautiful, inside and out, had a fabulous sense of humor, loved holidays, parties, shoes and her friends and family. It is not how she died but how she lived that we will remember.
Visitation is today, Tuesday, 2-4 & 7-9, Beecher Funeral Home, 418 Bedford Road, Pleasantville. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Innocents Roman Catholic Church, Pleasantville at 11:00am, Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation to American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) are appreciated. The family extends their sincere thanks for the loving care shown to Sheila by the staff of 5F of White Plains Hospital and the Pleasantville community.
