Obituary:
Lillian Gizzo, 87, of Barnegat, NJ, formerly of Thornwood, NY passed away on December 13th after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 3, 1922 in Bridgeport, CT to Vincenzo and Josephine (Lello) Mascolo. She attended Greenburgh Central Schools and was later employed by Sonotone and Reichhold Chemical, both in White Plains, NY.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed cooking, needlework and crafts. Her famous meatballs and lemon meringue pie will never be duplicated. Lillian was an active member of the Mount Pleasant Seniors and a long-time parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne, NY. She is survived by her loving daughters, Linda Lasko and Carol (James) Morrow, both of Barnegat, NJ. She also leaves two cherished grandchildren, Joseph Lasko and Jennifer (Agim) Neza and an adored sister, Ann (James) DePaso. Lillian was predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years, Rocco.
Visiting hours Wednesday 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM at Beecher Funeral Home Pleasantville, NY. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday 10 AM, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, NY. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, White Plains, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Southern Ocean County Hospital (SOCH) Foundation, 1140 Route 72 West, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. |
