Obituary:
Cora G. Handel of Yorktown Hgts, formerly of Mahopac, died December 6, 2009, she was 81.
Cora was born in Peekskill, NY on November 19, 1928 the daughter of Ralph D. and Florence A. (Stumpel) George.
She was a graduate of Mahopac High School, and St. Luke’s School of Nursing.
Cora worked as a School Nurse for Mahopac Central Schools for more than 25 years, retiring from the High School in the early 1980’s.
She lived most of her life in Mahopac/Carmel area. After retirement she moved to Clearwater, Florida and has most recently been living in Yorktown Hgts.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Jonathan and Andrew Kaiser both of Tonawanda, NY; her sister Beverly J. Goldhorn of Yorktown Heights, NY, and many nieces and nephews.
Cora was pre-deceased by her first husband Richard H. Beacom and her second husband Adolf F. Handel, her children, Linda J. Kaiser and Richard H. Beacom, Jr. and her brothers Ralph D. George and Robert D. George.
Calling hours Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Beecher Funeral Home, Pleasantville, where funeral services will be held Saturday 10 AM. Interment Raymond Hill Cemetery, Carmel, NY
