Obituary:
Ethel M. “Sandy” Ghiazza, 69 died July 25, 2009. Sandy was born in Mt. Kisco, NY on June 27, 1940 the daughter of Roswell and Martha Johnson. She spent her life in the Mt. Pleasant-Ossining area. On July 20, 1963 she married Charles L. Ghiazza, he died in 1986.
She was a clerical worker for Higham Press in Pleasantville for over 30 years
Sandy was a communicant of St. Theresa’s R.C. Church, in Briarcliff Manor. She also volunteered at Phelps Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her children; Glenn C. (Sara J.)Ghiazza and Dawn M. (Rich) Fiege, brothers; George and Lorrin Johnson, and sisters; Claudia LoPresti and Rosalind Sharp. Grandmother of Chili and Grace. Her long time companion William Joynes predeceased her.
Visiting hours Monday 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Beecher Funeral Home, Inc., Pleasantville. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 10 AM, St. Theresa’s R.C. Church, Briarcliff Manor. Interment Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy Hollow, NY
