Obituary: Dominick Cresenzi, a resident of Pelham Manor for 50 years, died on January 1, 2009 at the age of 91.He was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 29, 1917 to Josephine and Salvatore DeCrescenzo. He was educated in Brooklyn, NY. On August 25, 1940 he married Virginia Bukowski at St. Theresa’s Church in Brooklyn, NY. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II in the China-Burma-India campaign from 1943-1946. Mr. Cresenzi was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham Manor. He is survived by a son, Salvatore Cresenzi of Rye Brook, NY., a daughter-in-law, two grandchildren and a sister, Nancy DeCrescenzo of Pelham Manor. His wife Virginia predeceased him. The family will receive friends at the Beecher Funeral Home, Inc. in Pleasantville on Sunday from 2 – 6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church in Pelham Manor. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
